Through imitation, Viki was able to observe and try out new tasks. Many times, she would then apply her new knowledge for both practical purposes and in play. At the age of 3, Viki was able to use writing tools similar to a child at the age of 3. She was able to imitate some drawings, and her level of interest and restraint certainly improved, but she was never able to make anything that could be considered representational. She is shown in the following clip with writing tools at the ages of 2 and 3.

Again note that Viki uses both hands for her scribbling, though she seems to use her left hand a little more than her right.
