Through imitation, Viki was able to observe and try new tasks. Many times she would then apply her new knowledge for both practical purposes and in play. At the age of 2 1/2, Viki became interested in using a needle and thread, as she’d seen her mama do. She quickly was able to thread a large darning needle and use it to sew. Here seen at age 5 1/2, Viki works with a smaller needle, threading it better than many adult humans do. Then she works on the design of her t-shirt, “improving” it.
