In her first year, Viki’s play seemed to be laying a strong foundation for mechanical abilities and basic skills. In addition to imitation and motivation, her curiosity was a great help to her learning. As it developed, she explored new things, and in turn, learned about things she may not have otherwise.

At an early age, Viki showed a driven interest in fire and anything associated with it. She was allowed to play with fire after the age of three, under close supervision. Viki always liked to singe her hair on purpose but never burned herself seriously. Her fascination with fire led to at least one habit that was not in her health’s best interest, as the clips below show.
